Members of the 6 Meridian team recently gathered together for an afternoon ice cream break to close out the hot summer months, but little did we all know, there was an even bigger treat planned for one member of our team!
Kansas Big Brothers and Big Sisters staff members, Tammy Bouchér and Theresa Murdick, joined us to surprise Jenni Heartfield with a Big Brothers Big Sisters Exceptional Volunteer award, recognizing her strong commitment to service for the organization.
Not only did Jenni spend the year mentoring Little Sister, Amali, she also advocated for the organization by sharing her story on KWCH and during a televised phone drive for Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters. Jenni’s inspiring story prompted a surge of interest in the program.
“Volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters is not hard at all,” Jenni shared with our team. “Being matched with Amali was like gaining a new friend to hang out with. I am grateful to Big Brother Big Sister for making it fun and easy to be involved in our community.”
From all of us at 6 Meridian, Jenni, we are so proud of your commitment to service in our community, and we are grateful to have your positive energy and enthusiasm on our team.
