Jason Mayers, CFA®

Senior Associate Investment Management

What attracted Jason Mayers to a position at 6 Meridian? Three little letters that made a big impact- CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).

Jason and his family were living in Lincoln, Nebraska, but wanted to move back to the Wichita area to be closer to family. After a short time away from investments, working remotely for an international company, he quickly realized a desire to get back into the field.

“I did a Google search for other people in Wichita who held the CFA® designation like I do, so I could network. I found three at 6 Meridian. That’s a rare find, especially in Wichita. I knew it was a place I wanted to work. I wanted to be around people who’d been through the same process I had and were very passionate about investing.” Soon, a position did open, and Jason could not believe what he was seeing.

Jason went for it, and we’re thrilled to have him on board as our Senior Associate in Investment Management. Originally from Hays, Kansas, Jason has his undergraduate degree in accounting and finance from Fort Hays State University, and his Master of Investment Management and Financial Analysis from Creighton University.

“I’ve always worked in a corporate environment, and in transitioning to 6 Meridian, immediately recognized a more upbeat vibe. Everybody seems to be on good terms with everyone, you have to work cohesively. I really enjoy the camaraderie at the office, and how much everyone cares about each other and their work.”

Jason, his wife and young son enjoy being active outdoors and friendly competitions with family. They’re also big fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, and K-State athletics, his wife’s alma mater.

”We’re glad to be back in Wichita closer to family, and I’m grateful to have found this position at 6 Meridian. It has the warmth of a small firm, but the professional expertise and depth of a large firm.  I hold the CFA charter in high regard, and to work alongside colleagues with the same designation at a smaller firm, is impressive.“
