Gray clouds couldn’t dampen the brightness of our annual Ladies Luncheon at Botanica. Thank you to our fantastic clients who braved the impending weather to join us for an afternoon of art, wine and friendship.
The festivities started with a cocktail social while perusing the large collection of art by local women artists provided by Reuben Saunders Gallery.
Margaret Dechant, CEO, kicked off the event with team introductions that included each team member’s favorite piece of art. She concluded with a company update and a sincere message to our clients. “We wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for you,” Dechant explained as she thanked everyone for their continued business.
The Olive Tree created a delicious chicken salad and cucumber soup combo for lunch. Who knew cold green soup could be so incredibly wonderful?!
Goldman Sachs, Andrew Schurle, updated the audience on current market conditions including the risk of volatility and the areas that Goldman Sachs is watching in the upcoming months.
The afternoon wrapped up with gallery owner, Reuben Saunders, where he took us through the rich history of women artists in Kansas and followed up with a few great tips on starting our own collections. “Purchase what you love. Not what matches your pillows.” He also encouraged us to get out in the community to experience what the Wichita art scene has to offer by attending artist openings at galleries and First and Final Fridays.
The event concluded with pottery give-aways thanks to Reuben’s gracious donation and tours of the garden.
