Benjamin Cantrell, Director, is a member of the BlackRock U.S. Government Affairs & Public Policy team. As a Director on the Federal Government Affairs team, Ben is responsible for advancing the firm’s public policy priorities in Washington, D.C., including bolstering engagement with key federal policymakers.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Ben served for over a decade in the federal government in leadership roles or six members of the United States Congress as well as the vice president of the United States and the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget. Most recently, Ben orchestrated a successful campaign for the United States Senate and departed Capitol Hill as chief of staff to the same Senator. He received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University.
