Congratulations to Jessica Atherton, Director of Marketing, for being recognized by the Wichita Business Journal as a 2025 Marketing Award honoree!
When asked by the Wichita Business Journal what advice she would give to someone aspiring to enter the marketing field, Jessica shared:
Marketing is a broad field with vast career opportunities, and because of that, it can be hard to chart a path for yourself when you’re just starting out. If you’re thinking of marketing as a career, spend some time evaluating what excites you about the marketing function and what your strengths are that could apply to various marketing roles. Also – try something new – take initiative to build your skills and apply them through any channel available to you, such as a church, school group, local charity. There are numerous non-profit organizations in the area that would benefit from your volunteerism, and you will meet incredible people who expand your network, can provide mentorship, and will support your career objectives.
Jessica credits her time serving on the AMA Wichita board for the advancement of her career, where she gained an expanded network, diverse mentorship, and opportunities to develop additional marketing skills.
